Training week ending 24th April

A busy week at work and still struggling with a cold meant very little training during the week, however Sunday 24th was our biggest session yet.

With a 5am alarm call, we were up at North Hill of the Malverns at 6.15am and hit the Worcester Beacon by 6.45am, there was not a sole in sight, the temperature was cool with a very low cloud level. Our mission today was to walk the entire range of the hills, some 20 miles, however we were under pressure with time as an Easter Lunch was waiting for us.

Despite only stopping twice for around 10 minutes we were two hills short of the full length, with a total walking time of just under 6 hours. A great result and looking forward to meeting up with the rest of our 3 Peaks Team next Monday.

Zero training completed this week, still full of cold, will get to gym next week and have planned a long hike for Easter Sunday.

Training week ending 10th April

Good start to the week, two bike outings and one gym session then got hit by Sam's cold. I must say Sam was very unwell with his, and by Friday night things had become so bad we even had our own box of tissues each.

Still, plenty of gardening over the weekend gave us some fresh air, will shake this off then resume training.

Training week ending 3rd April

Brilliant week done, 36 miles on the bike plus 2 very hard gym sessions.

Gym work changed this week to german volume sessions, 10x10 reps for chest, shoulders, biceps and back, plus lots of core stability work, damn it hurts, one more week to go like this.

No walk this Sunday, it's Mothers day, but good long hill walk planned for next Sunday will post pics.
