Training week ending 27th Feb

Another very consistant week, two cycling sessions, two gym sessions plus walks.

Sunday 27th saw us head up the Worcestershire Beacon, we made it up in under 36 mins, not a bad time for a 1395 feet climb, we took a longer route back down. Next time we will do the ridge walk which is over 13 miles.

Training week end 20th Feb

Good solid training this week, 2 gym sessions for upper body, 1 mountain bike ride and two hikes.

Again like last Sunday Sam and I, joined by Jo (my wife) completed a two hour (8 mile) hike, we both found this session much easier than last week, so will have to up the anti for next Sunday...... the hills are calling.

Training so far..

Ok here is the beginning of our journey. The idea of the training plan is that we both reach a very high level of fitness and enjoy the 3 Peaks Challenge, rather than struggle, so our training has started 8 months before the event.

For our training walks we will be in full hiking gear including boots to get used to hiking long distances in them.

From the end of January we have completed a number of hour long walks keeping to a minimum pace of a mile every fifteen minutes.

Sunday 13th February we completed our first 2 hour (8mile) hike, for the first long outing conditions were not the best with driving rain, however the thought of a toasted sandwich kept us going and we completed the distance in the time set.

Good work and nice sarnie
